Gillman Home Center is seeking a Lumber Yard Manager to oversee daily yard operations and provide exceptional customer service. The role requires supervising the lumber yard team, coordinating deliveries with the sales team, and ensuring safety, inventory accuracy, and proper invoicing.

The position is full-time and reports to the Newark/closest store leadership. You will greet customers, resolve concerns, and coach team members to uphold high service standards while maintaining a well-stocked

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of supervision experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience managing a lumber yard is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lumber yard team and provide coaching under the store manager guidance.
• Greet and assist customers, resolve questions and concerns.
• Coordinate daily deliveries with the sales team and lumber desk; communicate delays or issues.
• Ensure a clean, stocked, and merchandised yard for customers.
• Assist customers with loading/unloading lumber and materials and operate trucks/equipment as needed.
• Oversee routine inspections and maintenance on equipment and vehicles; document logs as required by law.
• Maintain accurate inventory and verify invoicing before products leave the yard.
• Prioritize safety and enforce company policies; address safety concerns with management.
• Support other departments as needed.
