Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 months of forklift experience is desired.
• Frequently lifts 25–30 lbs; occasionally over 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb on/off the forklift.
• Attention to detail and patience are crucial.
• Experience with chain saws, tape measures, hand tools, and power tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates tow motor to move bundles of lumber to designated areas.
• Moves lumber to all locations in the lumber yard; some lumber is strapped, some is not.
• Loads/unloads kilns, pre-dryer, steam box, racks, tally chains, and trucks as required.
• Sets lumber on cross pieces and aligns pieces to prevent damage.
• Maintains flow of production by moving between areas as needed.
• Drives forklifts safely; must be trained and certified for size as required.
• Keeps tow motor in good operating condition and cleans work area.
• Observes safety and housekeeping procedures.
