Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Commodity Lumber Trader in Peachtree City, GA. You will manage sales for select customer accounts within the Southern Yellow Pine product line, negotiating, closing transactions, and coordinating delivery with logistics to maximize margins.

You will cultivate relationships with key accounts, implement sales strategies, and tailor offers to meet customer demand while collaborating with Sales, Logistics, and Credit teams. Travel is typically limited.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of forest product sales or purchasing.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
• Ability to travel (typically less than 10 days a year).
• Self-starter, competitive and goal oriented.
• Honesty and integrity are key to long term success.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, execute transactions, and manage delivery of lumber to customers.
• Develop and grow relationships with key accounts and build strategic programs.
• Develop and implement sales strategies that maximize mill margins.
• Understand customer needs and tailor offers accordingly.
• Collaborate with Sales, Logistics, and Credit departments; cross-train with others.
