Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commodity lumber, forest products, or related environment.
• Direct experience buying, purchasing, selling, or trading forest products.
• Experience managing commodity pricing, market fluctuations, margins.
• Experience developing and managing relationships with mills, suppliers, lumberyards, dealers, distributors, wholesalers.

Responsibilities

• Buy, sell, and trade commodity lumber and forest products.
• Manage relationships with customers, suppliers, mills, distributors, lumberyards, dealers, wholesalers, and other industry partners.
• Develop new business opportunities while managing and growing existing accounts.
• Monitor commodity lumber markets, pricing, supply and demand, product availability, and market movement.
• Negotiate customer and supplier pricing and terms while managing profitable margins.
• Identify lumber sourcing and purchasing opportunities based on customer demand and commodity market conditions.
• Manage commercial activity involving commodity purchasing, sales, pricing, sourcing, and product categories.
• Work with the Forest Products team to support sales, purchasing, and department profitability.
• Track competitive conditions, commodity pricing, supplier costs, and market fluctuations.
