Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworkingLumber Stackerto join our growing milling and lumber production team in Prineville, Oregon. This position plays a critical role inwood manufacturing, lumber processing, quality control, material handling, and production operationsby sorting, stacking, inspecting, and preparing lumber products for shipment.
The ideal candidate is safety-minded, team-oriented, and eager to learn new skills while building a long-term career in thelumber, sawmill, wood products, or manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities
- Sort and stack lumber coming off machine centers and production lines
- Grade lumber and inspect finished wood products for quality standards
- Clean work areas and maintain an organized production environment
- Wrap, band, and tag finished lumber products for shipment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Read and interpret production schedules and job orders
- Coordinate daily activities with forklift operators, saw operators, and production management
- Assist with additional production and yard duties as assigned
- Learn to operate block saws and other production equipment as needed
- Support efficient lumber processing and manufacturing operations
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and advance within the company
Key Requirements
- Ability to lift up to25 pounds frequentlyandup to 80 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors approximately90% of the timein varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working around dust, noise, machinery, and industrial equipment
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
- Strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Previous lumber mill or sawmill experience
- Previous warehouse, production, or general labor experience
- Experience operating or working around industrial equipment
- Familiarity with quality control and product inspection processes
