Qualifications

• Ability to monitor gauges, dials, and indicators to ensure equipment is functioning properly.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor planer and sawmill machine centers for accurate lumber production.
• Measure and record lumber thickness and width at designated machine centers following established procedures.
• Perform daily manufacturing quality checks to ensure machine centers are operating at optimal levels.
• Document inspection findings, maintain quality records, and communicate off-specification issues to mill personnel.
• Assist mill operators in correcting lumber that is out of specification.
• Provide guidance and training to mill personnel on identifying and reporting quality issues.
• Generate reports showing performance trends and key quality indicators.
• Complete production tallies, downtime tallies, and daily reports as required.
• Assist the supervisor in developing and improving quality processes across other mill areas as needed.
