Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral or written instructions issued by supervisors
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to observe gauges, dials and indicators on machinery
• Ability to communicate effectively to other operators and supervisors
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Strong understanding of lumber manufacturing processes
• Awareness of the relationship between volume, value and recovery

Responsabilités

• Consistently measure and record thickness and width at each machine center according to procedures
• Perform daily manufacturing quality checks to ensure machine centers operate at optimum levels
• Document findings, maintain records and communicate to mill personnel when lumber is off spec
• Assist mill personnel in bringing lumber back into specification
• Provide training to mill personnel on identifying quality issues and communicating them to QC Supervisor
• Generate reports showing performance trends on quality indicators
• Complete production tallies, downtime tallies and daily reports as required
• Assist supervisor in developing quality processes in other areas as needed
• All other duties assigned by supervisor
