Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a General Labor position to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements. You will move, stack, label, tag, band, and secure materials, maintain inventory, and assist in various areas while following safety and production guidelines.

This role involves standing, manual handling, and participating in continuous improvement programs as part of a team environment at our Granger, IN facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic math skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products per bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags before/after treating/production.
• Band, bundle and secure material with corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the area.
• Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
