Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking general labor workers in Indiana to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements. You will move, stack, label, tag, band, and secure materials, while following company policies and maintaining accurate production records.

The role includes assisting in related areas and participating in safety programs. Experience is not required, though manufacturing or lumber background is preferred; HS diploma or GED is acceptable.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • Basic math skills preferred
  • Ability to read and follow simple instructions

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and materials according to instructions
  • Stack finished product by predetermined bundle sizes and customer requirements
  • Label material by type, size and count
  • Apply tags before/after treatment or production
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment as needed
  • Band and secure material, attach corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor
  • Record production on production sheets and keep work area clean and organized
  • Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Perform other duties as required
