Job summary

Yoder's Building Components in Fair Play, SC is seeking a Front Counter Sales Associate to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service as customers select lumber, building materials, hardware and related products.

You will greet customers, process orders and payments, answer questions, prepare quotes, stock shelves, and contribute to a fast-paced team environment. Strong communication and basic math skills are important; prior retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, retail or sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lumber or building materials is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance with product selection and purchases.
• Process orders, sales transactions, returns and payments accurately.
• Answer phone calls and assist with product questions, pricing and availability.
• Prepare quotes and assist with special orders as needed.
• Develop knowledge of lumber, building materials, hardware and related products.
• Assist with stocking shelves, monitor inventory and maintain an organized sales area.
• Build positive relationships with customers, coworkers and other departments.
• Address customer concerns professionally and involve management when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
