Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Labor candidate to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing lumber, while maintaining inventory accuracy and a tidy work area.

Training and safety participation are emphasized. No minimum experience is required, though manufacturing or lumber exposure is preferred; candidates must be at least 18 years old and have basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Label material based on type, size, and count
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment
• Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor
• Record production on production sheets
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist with other areas by moving material, loading and unloading carts
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Perform other duties as required
