Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Salisbury, NC seeks a General Labor to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements. You will contribute to efficient production processes by moving, stacking, labeling, and securing materials, while adhering to company policies and quality standards.

You will participate in safety and continuous improvement programs, keep a clean work area, and help with other departments as needed, supporting reliable operations and team success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Basic math skills preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials per instructions.
• Stack finished products according to bundle sizes or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size and count.
• Apply tags to material before or after treating/production.
• Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions according to policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
