Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a motivated General Laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging and securing materials, as well as maintaining inventory and production records.

Responsibilities include operating basic equipment, complying with company policies, and supporting multiple areas as needed. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, though not required, and 18+ age is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum manufacturing experience required; lumber experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Basic math skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
  • Stack finished products according to bundle sizes and customer requirements.
  • Label material by type, size and count.
  • Apply tags to material before/after treating or production.
  • Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Bundle and secure material with bands and loading sticks.
  • Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Record production on production sheets.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Assist with other areas by moving materials and loading/unloading carts.
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.
