Job summary

Stimson Lumber Company in Idaho is seeking a lumber grader proficient in lumber grading, species and grade line, with strong knowledge of production flow and plant products. The grader will visually inspect all four sides of lumber to determine grade, length, and species.

Starting pay is $31.00 per hour, with range $31-$34 per hour for the Grader role; overtime eligible at time and a half. The position offers healthcare, 401(k) with match, profit sharing, bonus eligibility, 9 holidays, 2 weeks

Qualifications

• Proficient in lumber grading and species/grade line understanding.
• Strong knowledge of production flow and plant products.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect all four sides of lumber to determine grade, length, and species.
• Complete daily grade checks within set spread for each item produced at the plant.
• Identify defects in product and apply grade rules.
• Make grade and trim decisions to maximize product value and recovery.
• Communicate with quality control and planer teams, working toward goals.
