Job summary

Peak JCB in Utah seeks an experienced Mobile Lube Technician to perform oil changes, fluid replacements, and routine maintenance on heavy equipment. You will assist customers, diagnose issues, and help build lifelong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.

Responsibilities

• Drain oil and replace per manufacturer specs.
• Top off fluids including brake and power steering.
• Inspect engine block and underbody for leaks.
• Check tire pressure and fill as needed.
• Install new parts (air/oil filters, wipers, batteries).
• Lubricate moving parts and maintain engine cleanliness.
• Diagnose issues and consult with lead mechanics.
• Communicate issues to service writer and prepare reports.

Job description

Peak JCB is seeking an experienced Mobile Lube Technician to join our team! We are offering a competitive salary with full benefits including a 401K.

The Lube Technician is responsible for assisting customers with low-level service requests including oil changes and other fluid replacements. Their top priority is to provide quality maintenance to machines, helping to build confidence in the company and garner lifelong customer relationships. This is a great opportunity for entry-level mechanics to get their foot in the door as a heavy equipment mechanic with a strong, versatile organization.

Responsibilities

• Draining the oil from a machine and replacing it to manufacturer specifications.
• Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid.
• Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues.
• Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications.
• Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries.
• Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing.
• Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the machines’ issues.
• Communicating issues with machinery to the service writer and assisting with creating detailed service reports for customers.

Requirements

• An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles and/or heavy machinery.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to work legally in the US.
• Passing a drug screening and criminal background check.
• Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports.
• The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds.
• High School Diploma or GED, with graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or heavy equipment repair preferred but not required.
