Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Lube Tech to perform fluid checks and basic maintenance for trucks in the Denver Metro area. You will greet customers, change oil, inspect fluids, rotate tires, and prepare service reports.

This hourly position requires the ability to work outdoors, lift up to 80 pounds, and follow safety standards. A valid driver's license and tool set are a must for this role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean MVR.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing passenger automobiles and heavy trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and interact professionally.
  • Change vehicle oil and check fluid levels.
  • Inspect belts, filters, air levels and gauges; rotate tires.
  • Document service reports and receipts; ensure accuracy.

As a Lube Tech, your primary responsibility will be fluid checks and basic maintenance to ensure America’s trucks remain on the road!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Greet and interact with customers.
  • Change vehicle oil.
  • Check transmission fluid and other fluid levels.
  • Inspect various belts, filters, air levels, and gauges.
  • Rotate tires.
  • Write service reports and receipts for work completed.
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  • Perform all work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions.
  • Cross-collaborate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  • Save and tag warranty parts.
  • Regularly communicate with the shop foreman and provide an educated recommendation if a repair order needs to be adjusted.
  • Accurately summarize repairs and technician stories.
  • Record accurate time punches.
  • Road test vehicles as needed for quality assessment.
  • Ensure customer vehicle cleanliness.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work area.
  • Treat dealership owned tools with respect and care.
  • Understand and uphold federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Perform job duties and functions with flexibility in the event of: shift changes, emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments.
  • Ensure dealership is neat and organized.
  • Clean and organize the lot.
  • Gas, wash and arrange vehicles on the lot.
  • Deliver and pick up vehicles to various locations throughout the Denver Metro area.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • Required to perform work inside and outside, considering all-weather conditions, at the branch location.
  • Activities require a full range of motion including handling, lifting, manual dexterity, finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
  • Position requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position requires the occasional ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Position requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Must be able to operate simple, complex and heavy-duty machinery.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing passenger automobiles.
  • Motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of gas and diesel truck repair and maintenance including engine repair, transmission repair, drivability and electrical diagnostics, suspension, brake systems, etc.
  • Must possess a complete set of hand tools with rollaway toolbox.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to display attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment, pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen.
JOB DETAILS:
  • Type: Hourly
  • Shift: Tuesday-Friday 8:00am -5:00pm and Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Compensation Range: $17.00 to $21.00
  • Reports To: Service Manager
  • Closing Date: Open until filled.
