Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an experienced Underground Heavy Equipment Technician to operate in an underground environment. You will fuel, inspect, and maintain loaders, haul trucks and support vehicles, while keeping detailed service logs for maintenance and operations teams.

The role emphasizes safety, knowledge of lubrication systems and diesel equipment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team on a physically demanding site.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fuel and lubricate mobile equipment including loaders and haul trucks.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform fueling and lubrication of mobile equipment including loaders, haul trucks, and support vehicles
• Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify wear, leaks, or maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate service logs and communicate equipment status to maintenance and operations teams
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and support mechanics with basic repairs
• Follow all site-specific underground safety procedures, including ventilation, confined space, and hazardous material protocols

• Demonstrated ability to safely service and maintain heavy mobile equipment in an underground or industrial setting
• Working knowledge of lubrication systems, diesel equipment, and preventative maintenance practices

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level

What We Offer

• $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate
• $2,000 Sign-On Bonus paid out in two installments (6 months and 1 year)
