Job description

For our future state-of-the-art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a Sr. Technical Supervisor, Processing.

Job Summary

Provides guidance and direction to the Processing Department employees through multiple Supervisors. Makes informed decisions regarding product quality, department safety, and efficiency across multiple teams supporting a specific product line. Monitors all aspects of the specialty product within Processing, including testing, equipment operation, and employee actions. Manages inventories and employee scheduling to meet production demands. Builds an effective team through engagement, mentoring, and development of direct reports.

Job Duties
  1. Plans and schedules daily staffing needs to maximize efficiency and meet production requirements.
  2. Leads and coaches Supervisors and line employees, implementing programs in training, safety, quality, communication, and performance recognition to ensure engagement and productivity.
  3. Builds strong working relationships and fosters a positive work environment.
  4. Enforces company and plant policies consistently.
  5. Ensures all employees complete required training.
  6. Addresses employee questions and concerns.
  7. May lead departmental projects.
  8. Supervises daily shift operations to meet production and quality standards.
  9. Achieves targeted production volumes.
  10. Determines equipment repair needs and initiates maintenance to minimize downtime.
  11. Implements and participates in safety and quality programs.
  12. Monitors department operations for efficiency, cost savings, and quality improvements.
  13. Oversees sanitation programs to meet food safety standards.
  14. Monitors financial performance and assists in budget preparation and monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • College degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years in a food manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Proficient in computer systems, with ability to learn SAP or similar systems.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Dairy or cheese manufacturing experience.
