Job summary

Methuen High School in Methuen, Massachusetts seeks two Long-Term Substitute Program Assistants for Inclusion to support students with intensive needs throughout the day, including in class, electives, lunch and movement. Per diem rate of $125, with responsibilities across settings and data collection under close supervision.

The role requires close collaboration with the instructional team, comfort with assistive technology, and the ability to assist with behavior plans, toileting and feeding

Qualifications

• SPEDIAC training preferred
• Associates Degree preferred
• Program Assistant training, experience or equivalent is desired
• Enjoy children and be capable of using good judgment in working with students and instructional staff assigned to the program
• Ability to communicate with TEAM members and work cooperatively as student dictates and maintains a safe and secure educational environment

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities in inclusive and substantially separate settings
• Needs to assist with a behavior plan implementation
• Provide academic support as needed
• May need to support feeding and toileting need
• Monitoring for attention, work completion and social navigation
• Perform duties as assigned by school administration
• Perform other duties as per the building supervisor
