Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years in transportation, logistics or supply chain roles with similar functions.
• Experience with LTL rating, dispatch, carrier portals, shipment tracking, and exception management.
• Familiar with freight terms, accessorials, claims processes, delivery appointments, and service standards.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with carrier or fleet management is a plus.
• Analytical problem solving and data-driven decision making.
• Adept at time management and balancing independent work with team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Daily LTL load management within the specified region, inbound and outbound.
• Manage LTL shipment exceptions including missed pickups, delays, reconsignments, disputes and delivery requirements.
• Confirm shipment details such as weight, pallet count, dimensions, freight class/NMFC, appointment needs and delivery constraints.
• Validate system-recommended order planning and re-plan orders as necessary.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate freight, optimize routing, reduce accessorial charges and improve cost per pallet/order.
• Coordinate daily with inventory planning, depot operations, customer service and transportation teams to manage order exceptions.
• Conduct daily status calls, one-on-one phone calls and emails with customers, carriers and field teams.
• Provide support to team lead and cover for other transportation planners as needed.
• Flex work-hours to support PECO customer requirements.
