Job summary

Aflac is seeking a detail-oriented professional for a remote role within the continental US. The position emphasizes strong math, Excel proficiency, and solid communication to support disability-related financial calculations and claims processing.

The ideal candidate will bring 2–5 years of related experience, a High School Diploma (Bachelor's preferred), and the ability to collaborate with Case Managers while delivering accurate financial information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma; 2–5 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Experience in group disability or related financial calculations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Calculate pre-disability earnings, COLAs, deductions, offsets and other financials.
• Apply policy provisions related to pre- and post-disability finances.
• Review claimant return-to-work earnings calculations.
• Review offset coding in the claims payment system.
• Review and ensure accuracy of benefit components in claims systems.
• Explain financial aspects of claims to Case Managers as needed.
• Make policyholder calls to obtain missing financial information.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Calculates pre-disability earnings, COLAs, deductions, offsets, overpayments, underpayments and other and ongoing financial work in accordance with the provisions in the group disability policies.
• Responsible for the application of policy provisions related to pre- and post-disability financial calculations.
• Provides an ongoing review of claimant return to work earnings calculations.
• Reviews offset coding in the claims payment system for known offsets and adjusts as necessary.
• Reviews and ensures the accuracy of the benefit components in the claims payment systems.
• Reviews documentation and coding for the disability benefit taxability, including FIT, SIT, FICA.
• Demonstrates strong communication around financial aspect of claim to be available to the Case Managers for calculation explanations.
• Makes Policyholder/ Insured calls as necessary and appropriate to obtain missing financial information
• Performs other duties as required

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $60,000-$80,000 . This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
