The role involves planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality resident care. Strong communication and decision-making skills are essential, with a 50+ mile residency requirement and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maine (or compact)
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience
• 2+ years in management/leadership in long-term care preferred
• Acute or rehabilitation experience preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing operations in a long-term care/SNF setting
• Maintain 8am–5pm schedule with staffing adjustments
• Participate in on-call rotation; no holiday coverage
• Plan, organize, and direct daily nursing operations per regulations
• Ensure quality patient/resident care standards are developed and followed
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, admissions, case management, and medical director on care coordination and infection control
• Monitor quality improvement activities including chart reviews and corrective actions
• Participate in Infection Control, Pharmacy, and Quality Improvement committees
• Support staff education, orientation, and competency development
• Act as a mentor for nursing staff and students
• Cover Director of Nursing Services duties in their absence
• Residence within 50+ miles of facility
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts per 13-week assignment
