Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Acute Care for a travel nursing job in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The LTAC RN will care for patients with extended medical needs, work 12-hour night shifts, and cover 36 hours per week on a 13-week assignment.

The role requires an active RN license, accredited nursing degree, BLS & ACLS, and LTAC experience. Travel benefits include housing allowance, health coverage, and per diem options.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Degree from accredited nursing program.
• BLS & ACLS certifications.
• Eighteen months of LTAC experience.
• Experience with vents, trachs, drips, EG tubes and read Tele-strips.
• Other requirements to be determined by our client facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for 5-6 patients.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage admissions and discharges.
• Monitor and administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV).
• Educate patients and family on surgical processes and illness management.
• Monitor specialized equipment and interpret telemetry.
• Notify medical team of irregularities.
• Perform duties of a registered nurse at all times.
• Care for patients with pulmonary HTN, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and A-Fib.
• Use computer to monitor vital information.
• Start IVs and draw blood.
