Job summary

Solara Specialty Hospitals Harlingen is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. The nurse will develop care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, and communicate changes in a patient’s condition with physicians and nursing leaders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and clinical condition.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Six (6) months of Medical/Surgical nursing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains the standard of nursing care and implements hospital policies.
• Directs, supervises, and evaluates nursing care provided to patients.
• Delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Documents patient admission assessments and care plans.
• Administers medication using the five rights of administration.
• Assists physicians with examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Performs patient care responsibilities within licensure and scope.
• Participates in discharge planning and communication with the team.
