Job summary

Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists seeks an Assistant Teacher for our Children's Center. This part-time position supports the lead teacher with lesson planning, classroom setup, and daily activities to foster a safe, engaging learning environment.

Applicants should have a two-year Early Childhood degree with ECE units, knowledge of Title 22 licensing, and be able to pass required exams and background checks. A commitment to ongoing professional growth is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Early Childhood; 12 ECE units; actively enrolled in ECE classes toward PUC certification (level 2+).
• Knowledge of Title 22 licensing requirements.
• Physical exam and background checks (Dtap, MMR, TB, CPR) required.
• Evidence of emotional maturity, stability, and physical fitness.
• Demonstrated good judgement and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to supervise safely and maintain a child-friendly environment.
• Effective communication with parents, colleagues, and the director.

Assistant Teacher

Qualifications

• A two-year degree in Early Childhood Minimum of 12 ECE units while actively enrolled in ECE classes toward at least the PUC Professional Achievement Recognition certification, lever 2 or higher.
• Has knowledge of and understands Title 22 licensing
• Meets the requirements for a physical exam, testing (Dtap, MMR, TB, CPR) and background
• Evidence of emotional maturity, stability and physical
• Evidence of good judgement, problem solving
• Skillful at providing safe supervision and awareness of student's environment at all
• Ability to communicate with parents, colleagues and director in an open, friendly and professional manner.
