Job summary

Bi-State Development Agency in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a MetroLink Mechanic responsible for inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of rail vehicle systems. You will operate diagnostic test equipment and perform preventive maintenance on LRVs.

Qualified candidates have strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, ability to read schematics, and CDL or ability to obtain. This is a full-time role with hourly pay and benefits, including overtime opportunities and a clear career path.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic theory and principles.
• Knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repair techniques.
• Ability to complete comprehensive technical exams.
• Ability to work under limited supervision.
• Must maintain required training and certifications including CDL and DOT prerequisites.
• Must provide his/her tools.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job.
• Training program completion and post-training qualification period.
• Must be able to obtain/hold the appropriate CDL permit.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on LRV systems.
• Use tools and diagnostic equipment to locate faults and perform repairs.
• Repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of LRVs.
• Maintain equipment reports and records of maintenance.
• Move LRVs in yards/shops after training and examinations.
