Job summary

You will participate in patient assessments, administer medications, and educate patients and families, while maintaining safety and quality standards in a high-stakes clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher required at hire.
• LPN license to practice in Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS certification required within 45 days of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
• Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
• May triage patients and refers to physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant if needed.
• May relay information to patients.
• May carry out orders by the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant as it pertains to the needs of the patients.
• May perform administrative/clerical duties in support of assigned clinical department.
• May perform plan of care interventions.
