Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Kentucky is seeking an LPN to join the Wound Healing team. You will provide direct patient care under the direction of a RN, NP, PA, or physician. This role requires critical thinking, ability to work under pressure, and adherence to the Nurse Practice Act.

LPN licensure in Kentucky and BLS certification must be obtained within 45 days. The position is full-time (80 hours per pay period) and includes ongoing orientation and opportunities for professional

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
  • LPN license to practice in Kentucky required upon hire and BLS certification within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data to assist patient assessment.
  • Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
  • Perform duties per the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Triage patients and refer to a physician or NP/PA when needed.
  • Relay information to patients as appropriate.
  • Carry out orders as directed by the physician/NP/PA relating to patient needs.
  • Support the assigned clinical department with administrative tasks.
  • Carry out plan of care interventions.

Job Summary

Provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician.

Job Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
  • Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
  • May triage patients and refers to physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant if needed.
  • May relay information to patients.
  • May carry out orders by the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant as it pertains to the needs of the patients.
  • May perform administrative/clerical duties in support of assigned clinical department.
  • May perform plan of care interventions.
