Job summary

Corewell Health in St. Joseph, MI is seeking a Part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join the OBGYN Medical Group. Under supervision of the RN/Mid-level Provider, you will contribute to patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, always upholding our standards of care and privacy. Shift: Day, 7:30 a.m.

to 5:30 p.m., 32 weekly hours, Monday through Friday. Location: Health Park Medical Office Building, St. Joseph.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational/Technical Graduate of an approved nursing program.
• Successful completion of competency-based orientation program.
• LPN license in Michigan upon hire.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Collects and monitors assessment data and reports needs of patients and families.
• Provides direct patient care under supervision of RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
• Informs patients about treatments and medications and equipment in use.
• Documents care provided in patient records per guidelines.
• Communicates with patients and families to ensure continuity of care.
• Cleans patient environment and reports equipment issues.
• Documents chargeable items according to standards.
• Participates in quality monitoring activities and protects patient privacy and data.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the RN / Mid-level Provider / Physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Essential Functions

• Collects and monitors assessment data and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician, consistent with policies and procedures, and unit based routines.
• Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
• Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.
• Greets and communicates with patients and families in a manner consistent with caring and respect. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of service.
• Cleans patient's environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.
• Documents patient chargeable items according to standards.
• Participates in selected quality monitoring activities under the direction of the RN / Mid-level Provider / Physician. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Recognizes appropriate and ethical behaviors and identifies resources for resolution as needed. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff and organization data.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Vocational/Technical Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Successful completion of competency based orientation program
• LIC-License Practical Nursing (LPN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days Or

Preferred

• Healthcare experience
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days
