  • Chart initial and ongoing assessments once RN completes initial tasking.
  • Develop and update care plans with RN involvement.
  • Coordinate orders with physicians/APPs for patient care.
  • Perform dressing changes, trach care, NG tube care and feedings.

Overview

***$2,500 Sign On Bonus 2yr Commitment LPN >1yr External Applicants only***

When unit is full, LPN will work with RNs with highest acuity or will be paired with an RN who has a heavy patient load. When the UNL has patients, the LPN will be paired with the UNL to assist with the UNL patient load. LPN tasks may include oral meds, IV piggyback meds, trach care, dressing changes, documentation on assessments and care plans after the RN has completed the first assessment and initiated the care plan.

Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit)

NT7 is 43- bed unit specializing in the care of acute and chronic digestive surgical patients. We are a bariatric certified unit by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Surgical patients on this unit includes trunk trauma patients, as well high acuity surgical advance care patients. We care for patients with surgical intervention needs from Oral Maxillary Facial Surgery (OMFS) traveling through to Colon Rectal Surgeries. With Carle being a level trauma center most regional trauma patients will be admitted to this unit.

Nurse to Patient ratio

1:4-6 for surgical/medical patients and 1:3 with surgical advanced care patients

The length of stay can vary depending on diagnosis, interventions, and needs of each patient. We focus on being a team to provide the best and safest care to our community. Additionally resources for the unit include: a full-time educator, part-time educator, 2 nurse supervisors, a manager, and charge nurses.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $25.73per hour - $41.87per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
