Job summary

Mercy in Fort Smith, AR is seeking an LPN to join a fast-paced 26-bed unit that cares for adult orthopedic and general surgical patients recovering from procedures. With a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, you will contribute to post-operative care for joint replacements, fracture repairs, and abdominal surgeries under licensed supervision.

Education requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and a current LPN license in the state. BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

With a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, nurses gain experience managing post-operative care for patients undergoing joint replacements, fracture repair, abdominal surgeries, and other surgical procedures.

Patient Population:

This unit offers opportunities to develop expertise in pain management, wound care, mobility progression, rehabilitation, patient education, and discharge planning. Nurses work closely with an interdisciplinary team while caring for patients with wound vacs, surgical drains, PCA pumps, traction equipment, and other specialized post-surgical needs.
