Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Orthopedics unit. The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with a days/evening shift pattern (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) . Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered

Experience:

• New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
