Job summary

The Oklahoma Military Department is seeking a licensed practical nurse to support Sooner Job Challenge students ages 16–21, up to 60 per class. You will perform direct and indirect nursing care under supervision, including taking temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressure.

Responsibilities include daily sick calls, coordinating medical care (office visits, ER, medications), transporting students, recording health information, dispensing medications, and weekend call rotation.

Qualifications

• Valid permanent Oklahoma LPN license plus one year of practical nursing experience, or ENLC with one year of experience.
• Knowledge of nursing techniques, infection control and medical terminology.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality; basic computer skills for database entry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily sick call and determine treatment plans.
• Assist in coordinating medical care including office visits and ER.
• Transport students to appointments and assist with follow-up care.
• Order, pack and dispense medications; coordinate refills.
• Report patient information to supervisor and maintain medical records.
• Develop rapport with providers, students, parents and staff; provide health education.
• Maintain inventories of medical supplies.
• Participate in weekend call rotation.
