Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Norman, OK is seeking a high-energy LPN to join our 5TA Medical team. This unit provides medical/surgical care to adults and consists of 16 med/surg tele beds with post-op colorectal, urological, and diabetic limb care.

The role focuses on safe medication administration, care planning, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will hold an Oklahoma LPN License with BLS on orientation and maintain it, and bring strong communication skills to the department.

Qualifications

• Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current Oklahoma State LPN License.
• BLS certification required and maintained through employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act
• Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients
• Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy
• Documents nursing care and activities
• Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures
• Assists the departmental assistant with clinical matters
• Maintains the exam/treatment rooms and work environment
• Assists with the training of other staff

We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Qualifications

Education

• Completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse

Experience

• Prefer previous hospital experience
• Previous work history reflecting stable employment is necessary
• If no work experience, will consider school attendance record and performance

Licensure/Certification.

• Current Oklahoma State LPN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
