Job summary

Watson Clinic is seeking a dedicated LPN or Medical Assistant to provide basic medical and nursing care, ensuring patient comfort and clear communication with providers. The role includes triage by phone, medication administration, patient education, and support for physician procedures.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or MA program, hold FL licensure (LPN), or MA certification with BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing; active Florida LPN license.
• Gyn-Oncology experience preferred for LPN track.
• High school diploma or GED; completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year MA experience.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment; BLS certification or within first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections and documents as required.
• Provides patient and family education and information.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Facilitates patient flow and supports physician with procedures.
• Assists physician with medical office procedures and maintains office integrity.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Summary/Objective: Provide basic medical and nursing care. Ensure the comfort of patients, discuss health care with patients, and report status of patients to registered nurses and providers.

Essential Functions

• Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
• Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required.
• Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information patient’s medical records
• Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office.
• Assists the physician with medical office procedures.
• Maintain the integrity of the office.
• Assists with the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician office and assists the physician with medical office procedures as needed.
• Assists with hospital procedures and/or surgeries and coordinates scheduling surgical procedures.

Requirements

LPN Specialist requirements are:

Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or

Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Gyn-Oncology experience preferred.

Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are:

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment.
