Job summary

UNC Health in Apex, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join Rex SNF Apex on a per diem basis. The role supports an interdisciplinary care team and follows established care plans to address biophysical and psychosocial needs.

The position requires an NC LPN license and BCLS, with completion of an accredited LPN program. Per diem schedule features day shifts onsite and a 4.00 hour workweek, with pay determined by experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Mathematical skills to perform unit conversions and med calculations.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain documentation as required by nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs designated job duties under RN supervision within the LPN scope.
• Participates in development of an interdisciplinary care plan.
• Implements the care plan according to patient needs.
• Monitors patient outcomes and reports abnormal findings.
• Administers medications according to standards.
• Documents patient status per unit procedures.
• Maintains nursing education requirements as required.
• Documents according to regulations.
• Performs other duties within LPN scope.
