Job summary

Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, OH, is seeking an experienced LPN to join Senior Services. You will provide nursing care under supervision, supporting perianesthesia pathways and patient comfort in a fast-paced environment.

The role includes medication administration, documentation, pain and nausea assessments, and safe handoffs. We offer a $2,000 sign-on bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a day shift with alternating weekends and holidays, plus Senior Services premium benefits.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Licensed Practical Nurse with IV nursing certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under physician/provider guidance.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of nursing care for care coordination.
• Administer medications with knowledge of action, dosing and side effects.
• Perform routine assessments for PONV and implement rescue treatments.
• Conduct comprehensive pain assessments and apply pharmacological and non-pharmacological relief.
• Care for pediatric and geriatric patients and families.
• Provide safe transfer of care with proper handoff communication.
• Maintain licensure and pursue professional growth and required training.

General Summary:

Under the direction of the physician/provider, provides nursing care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement care, nursing interventions and procedures necessary as the patient progresses through the perianesthesia phase of care in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes, under the direction of the RN.
• Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the health care team, in order to endure quality of care.
• Demonstrates knowledge for administering and recording of medications, can also demonstrate knowledge of commonly used medications: action, dose and side effects.
• Demonstrates routine assessments for PONV and implements appropriate rescue treatments.
• Able to perform a comprehensive pain assessment using appropriate pain scales and uses both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods to control pain.
• Demonstrates knowledge in the care of the pediatric and geriatric population and their family/caregiver.
• Provides for the safe transfer of care with a communication handoff to the next phase of care.
• Functions as a role model for current and new staff.
• Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and attends all required training programs.
