Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with students in the school setting, in the health room or within the school district. Hourly pay ranges from $32 to $35 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state of practice.
• Current Health Certificate as required by facility.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, monitors, and manages students with chronic disease and disabilities, and documents services per orders and care plans.
• Provides emergency crisis nursing care for ill or injured students and staff.
• Maintains disease prevention and control through education, policy, and enforcement.
• Conducts physical health assessments and screenings (temperature, vision, hearing, dental, etc.).
• Provides counseling to students, parents, and staff on health-related attendance issues.
• Maintains health-related reports and ensures policy compliance.
• Provides health education for students, families, and staff on growth, home nursing, and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, monitors, and manages students with chronic disease and disabilities, and documents the services provided in accordance with orders and care plan.
• Provides emergency crisis nursing care for physically and/or psychologically ill and injured students and staff .
• Maintains communicable disease prevention and control through education, policy and enforcement.
• Conducts physical healthcare assessments and screenings, including temperature checks, vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis and nutritional assessments, etc.
• Provides counseling and guidance to students, parents and staff regarding health-related attendance problems.
• Maintains thorough and comprehensive health-related reports, monthly reports, and emergency reports, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provides health education for use by students, families, and school personnel on subjects such as (but not limited to) growth and development, home nursing instruction and first aid.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensures in the state in which the nurse practices in
• Current Health Certificate (per facility).
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior LVN/LPN experience preferred.
