Job summary

Springbrook NY, Inc. is seeking an LPN to provide comprehensive nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse on our campus. The role includes medication administration, patient care, and assisting in day-to-day activities of individuals with developmental disabilities.

This position requires NYS LPN license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and good computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word). The pay range is $20.00-$22.00 per hour and varies with experience and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• Current NYS LPN license.
• Two years’ experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities preferred; will consider candidates without experience.
• Duties require professional verbal and written communication, collaboration.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assumes all responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Supports DSPs and RNs in medical care, observes and reports health changes.
• Administers medications and provides prescribed care under LPN scope.
• Reports medical issues to program RN.
• Provides comprehensive nursing care, including prevention, detection, and treatment of illness; follows physician orders.
• Schedules and attends medical appointments.
• Remains calm and acts quickly in emergencies.
• Documents care per Springbrook policies and procedures.
• Monitors symptoms, side effects, and medication effects to the RN.
• Performs routine medication room checks.
