Freedom Behavioral in Bossier City, LA is seeking a Central Intake Representative to manage the psychiatric intake admission process. You will be responsible for collecting and presenting data, verifying insurance eligibility, and ensuring timely communication with referring agencies.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, and a background in medical terminology. This is a full-time role requiring shifts from 10 am to 6 pm, along with various benefits including health and dental insurance.
The Central Intake Representative (CIR) performs all tasks related to the organization’s centralized psychiatric intake admission process for inpatient and outpatient visits, including insurance eligibility verifications when applicable. The CIR enhances referral source and patient satisfaction by providing a prompt, accurate centralized process for handling referrals for the organization’s psychiatric programs. The CIR ensures urgency and timely communication throughout the referral process until the individual hospital admission is approved or denied. The CIR drives data collection and provides presentations through defined processes and technology to the approved provider of the facility for admission consideration. The CIR assists in the initial registration and input of facilities E.H.R., discloses any patient concerns, and operates within the response timeline to promote shortened patient approval/denial wait times.
The CIR manages and leads defined processes per shift daily, has extensive knowledge of insurance eligibility and verification, and possesses immaculate organizational and time‑management skills. The CIR collects data and presentations accurately and provides summaries of the medical aspects of referrals criteria for services. The CIR secures pertinent clinical and psychosocial information from referring agencies/facilities, expediting admission presentations to the on‑call psychiatrist, who determines admission status and level of care for each referral. The CIR provides clinical presentations to the on‑call psychiatrist for each program as determined by the physician coverage schedule and communicates admission approval to hospital leaders/departments/units in a timely manner. The Central Intake Representative reports directly to the Central Intake Coordinator.
