Ephraim McDowell Health is hiring a LPN/RN for Behavioral Health on a 7p-7a shift at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Inc. This full-time position works 36+ hours per week and provides opportunities to participate in patient-centered care within a supportive team.

The role involves nursing assessment, care planning, and leadership as charge nurse when designated; requires ADN graduate and KY RN license, BLS/ACLS and rhythm course.

Qualifications

• Must have ADN nursing degree and Kentucky RN license.
• BLS, ACLS and Basic Rhythm Course completed within required timeframes.

Job Summary:

The RN is a nursing professional care provider under the direction of the director or designee who utilizes the nursing process, nursing standards and physicians orders to plan, provide and direct nursing practice. Accomplishment of nursing practice that includes practice elements as defined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and in accordance with the Ephraim McDowell Health nursing professional practice model. Performance that accomplishes patient and family centered care as central to practice and a foundation of caring, compassion, competence, communication, collaboration and teamwork. Responsible to participate in shared nursing leadership to accomplish positive outcomes, education, respect, dignity and safety for the patient and their family. Accountable for leadership of self and others and functions as charge nurse when designated. Exhibits F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service and Trust).

Essential Functions:

Assists with the initial and ongoing patient assessment to participate in the plan of care in collaboration with patient, family and health care team to obtain desired patient outcome. Implements patient care activity to assist with delivery of quality care. Provides a comfortable and safe environment for patients. Considers the age of the patient served, applies knowledge of growth and development and age specific techniques throughout the life span (neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric) in planning and implementing care. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization. Contributes to the effective operations of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort:

Works in a well lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Schedule may consist of weekends, holidays and shift work. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods of standing, walking, stooping heavy lifting and bending are required. Risks exposure to disease, infection and physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation and antineoplastic agents. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently.

Patient, family members and significant others, physicians and Associates, other healthcare providers, community resource personnel, administrative staff and Organizational support services.

Certification Required

Current RN License in the state of Kentucky. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (successful completion within one [1] year of employment). Basic Rhythm Course required (successful completion within one [1] year of employment).

Compensation:

$21.70-$41.70 hourly, based on experience. $10,000 sign on bonus. shift differential: 12.5% nights, 5% wknds.
