Job summary

Carle Health in Illinois is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care under the supervision of an RN in patient care departments. The LPN will work with an RN or UNL/Charge Nurse to support patient load and may administer oral meds, IV piggybacks, wound care, dressing changes, and discharge education.

Qualifications

• LPN license (Illinois) required; BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Education: College Diploma in Licensed Practical Nurse; Certificate of Completion: Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Work Experience: (as defined by position) shown in posting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of an RN.
• Administer medications, including IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV push).
• Document assessments and care plans after the RN initiates the care plan.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Complete dressing changes, wound care, trach care, and NG tube care as needed.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting hazards and incidents.
