Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide comprehensive resident care in a hospital setting. You will perform nursing processes, administer medications, and work with an interdisciplinary team to update care plans. You will document care and uphold patient privacy and safety while supporting residents’ independence.

Required licensure and a graduate LPN program, with BLS certification. Prior long-term or acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of practical nursing.
• Licensed by State of Michigan.
• BLS Certification required.
• Preferred: experience in long-term care or acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions.
• Applies the nursing process in provision of resident care.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in formulation of a resident plan of care and updates; participates in team and family conferences as needed.
• Provides nursing care to residents including wound care and medication administration.
• Implements the residents’ plan of care and enforces hospital policies.
• Completes documentation forms and inputs data as required.
• Demonstrates professionalism in written and oral communication with residents, visitors, coworkers, physicians, and other health care members.
• Demonstrates knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment used for resident care; mitigates hazards.
• Demonstrates organizational ability in managing time, equipment, and supplies.
• Encourages independence by residents in activities of daily living.
• Performs other department related duties as assigned.
