Job summary

Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Rehabilitation team in Dallas, TX. This full-time role involves day and night shifts, delivering direct patient care under RN supervision and contributing to an interdisciplinary care plan.

Qualified candidates will be a graduate of an accredited LPN program with current state licensure, 1 year of relevant acute care or rehab experience, and CPR/BLS certification (IV cert preferred or obtainable within 6

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
• Experience: Minimum one year of Medical/Surgical, Inpatient Rehab or Step Down experience in an acute care setting.
• License: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• Certifications: CPR/BLS; IV Certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
• Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates strong clinical skills and commitment to safe, patient-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
