Job summary

Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital in Dallas, TX is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time night shift (6:45pm-7:15am) to deliver direct patient care under RN supervision in an acute rehabilitation setting.

Join a multidisciplinary team focused on safe, patient-centered care, ongoing assessments, and rehabilitation interventions. LPN graduates with CPR/BLS certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Minimum one year of Medical/Surgical, Inpatient Rehab or Step Down experience in an acute care setting.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• CPR/BLS certification required; IV Certification highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivering treatments and supporting interdisciplinary care planning.
• Identify and implement rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely Quality Improvement assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; educate patients and families on pain management.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills and commitment to safe, patient-centered care.
• Work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.

As an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivering treatments, assisting in assessments, and supporting interdisciplinary care planning in accordance with the patient's needs.

• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates strong clinical skills and commitment to safe, patient-centered care.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
