Job summary

FMOL Health in Madison, MS is seeking an LPN to support physicians and nursing staff in inpatient care. The role includes patient assessment, medication administration, and coordination of care per protocols under physician supervision.

The ideal candidate will have an active MS LPN license with BLS, hospital acute care experience preferred, and strong communication skills to educate patients and families. This position is on-site in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Active MS LPN License and BLS certification.
• Experience in hospital acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs during examinations, treatments and emergencies.
• Administer oral, rectal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications and/or injections.
• Maintain a clean, safe, well-stocked patient care area, including patient examination rooms.
• Provides telephone triage/communication, calls in prescriptions, orders diagnostic studies as defined by protocol or per physician instructions.
• Educates patients and families about procedures and assists them in coping with illnesses and hospitalizations under the physician.
• Maintains complete and accurate medical records reflecting patient condition, medications, treatments and pertinent information.
• Demonstrates professional, customer service–oriented attitude and works independently within license scope.
• Pursues continuing education units to maintain licensure and identify opportunities for care improvement.
