Job Summary

Responsible for nursing care under the direct supervision of Physicians and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APRNs). Effectively manages patient movement throughout the medical practice, ensuring timely rooming, turnover, and patient flow to support physician and APRN efficiency.

Duties and Essential Functions

1. Prepares patients for physician and/or APRN by obtaining vitals, chief complaint, medical and medication history, updating health maintenance, and addressing best practice alerts prior to visits.
2. Gathers health data through assessments and biological samples, collecting specimens for lab analysis.
3. Provides basic patient care as ordered, following guidelines, standards, and regulations.
4. Documents assessments, interventions, and their effectiveness and timeliness.
5. Assists with treatments, administers medications, and monitors patient responses, following medication safety practices.
6. Manages nursing in-basket responsibilities and performs registration duties, including callbacks, referrals, and check-in/out.
7. Provides patient and family education, documenting understanding.
8. The Lead LPN performs these duties and leads the team’s daily work.

Education, License, Certification, and Other Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Active LPN license in Kentucky (or other eNLC state) and/or Ohio.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Preferred: One year LPN experience.

Working Environment

• Works near moving mechanical parts, blood, body fluids, and infection risk.
• Occasionally exposed to chemicals and radiation.
• Moderate noise level.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally stationary, frequently walking, operating equipment, and using fine motor skills.
• Lift/move up to 10 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Communicates with patients and team, with specific vision abilities required.
