Job summary

Summit Health in Purchase, NY seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a physician-led, patient-centered network. You will perform office visits, prepare patients for exams, administer medications, collect specimens, and assist with charting under supervision.

Requirements include LPN graduation, NY licensure, and BLS on hire; IV/phlebotomy skills are highly preferred. Compensation ranges from $33.99 to $42.50 per hour. We offer VillageMD benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of LPN school program.
• Current licensure as LPN in state of New York.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• IV and/or phlebotomy skills highly preferred.
• Completes competency skill checklist within first 3 months.

Responsibilities

• OFFICE VISITS: Introduces self to patient while escorting patient into the exam room.
• Prepares the patient for exams and procedures.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians’ instructions to patients.
• Administers medications including all types of injections, IV therapy as needed and within the scope of licensure.
• Provide basic patient care, such as dressing wounds or applying compresses.
• Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
• Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
• Assemble and use equipment appropriate to medical practice.
• Schedule follow-up appointments for patients as needed.
• Communicates delays effectively when necessary.
• CHARTING: Enters patient information into the computer accurately and timely.
• Manages the physician’s desktop accurately and in a timely and efficient manner.
• MISCELLANEOUS: Provides clerical support such as scheduling, pre-authorization, and answering phones.
• Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels.
• Must work under supervision of the physician or RN.

Pay Range: $33.99 - $42.50 Hourly

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
