Qualifications
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment (MA).
- Possesses an active CPR certification.
- Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws governing practice.
- Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes a systematic approach to meet the health needs of each patient.
- Implements nursing care within LPN scope of practice.
- Assists in development and implementation of teaching plans for health promotion and restoration.
- Cares for wounds with appropriate cleaning and dressing.
- Administers medications to offenders.
- Monitors vital signs and reports changes to medical staff.
- Documents actions in MAR and medical records.
- Other nursing duties as assigned by facility.
