Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in Missouri is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Orthopedics unit. You will apply the nursing process to provide patient care under supervision of licensed prescribers or an RN, coordinate patient care with other departments, and protect patient rights and confidentiality.

This full-time, 36-hour weekly night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) includes a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year depending on unit requirements).

• Maintains professional accountability for patient care and rights/confidentiality.

Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Days Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Sign-On Bonus:

Up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered

Experience:

• New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
